After studying up on an old Soviet signal transmitter which produced waves of sound into the abyss for 28 years before vanishing in an instant, Evian Christ paints a musical soundscape of what incapsulating resonances might hit our ears if we could be in the presence of the Duga-3 itself. With the skills of a seasoned minimalist composer, Christ catapults the listener onto a plain of spiritual and celestial exploration with this 20 minute freeze-frame of mechanical humming, news-reporter babble, twisted church organ moaning and whispered futuristic warnings. This is an artist of extreme sensibility and mindful composition.
