Paul Woolford's 'Hardcore' EP, with appearances by Anthony Naples and Lee Gamble, takes on a textured, darkened yet sometimes buoyant look at space and levels. This grunged-out yet sophisticated group of songs includes the bright percussive drive of, “Wall to Wall”. Standout among the tracks is “Anthony Naples Enternal mix” a busy, noisy, scratchy trance piece. “Broken dreams” is smooth vocal samples and intensely driven drum kit kicks. Setting things straight is the growling, quiet noise of Lee Gamble's remix. Layers, texture and flow. This is an EP to chew on.
