The supergroup featuring Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor are back with a third poptastic album, and with a soulful, more decadent edge to their sound. Members Pat Thomas, John Coxon, Charles Haywood and frontman Alexis Taylor work closely together with the interlocking sportsmanship of a seasoned jazz-band and the head turning energy of an indie jam band. Lead single ‘All Is Not Lost’ contrasts a funky but slouching blues melody with Taylor’s falsetto words of wisdom, “Walk On By” is an example of their natural group call-and-response reflexes, driving forward with a unified pulse. Alexis Taylor's easy and floaty vocals sit pleasantly on top of the controlled creative rumble making for a surprising listen.
