With Downwards records, Samuel Kerridge brings us a dark, soulful techno through “From The Shadows That Melt The Flesh”. Each piece brings the listener inside of a place they've been before... and sometimes to places they wish they hadn't. “Chew” is a beat-driven atmospheric moment, rife with interference and feedback. “Deep space” comes as a dank, dripping, sneaking piece that stands right over your shoulder, watching you watch it. “Hand made” and “Slow motion” follow in the same medieval fashion, with a revving yet lightly percussive feel followed by a barren haunted moan of dissonance.
