Brooklyn label Captured Tracks have teamed singer Sonny Kilfoyle up with techno engineer Mark Verbos to see what the two could come up with. Recorded in the shade of the Williamsburg Bridge ‘Tides End’ is it; a runaway pop LP that’s plugged into the ‘80s. From the soaring keyboards, snappy beats and Kilfoyle’s Morrissey impression on ‘Margot’ to the New Order antics of ‘Doomed and Cool’, ‘Tides End’ is anthemic analogue pop - think Freur if someone had pushed the turbo boost button.
