Back in the wilderness of 2007, Swedish producer Axel Willner — aka The Field — gave electronic music the king into life it so desperately needed. His debut, From Here We Go Sublime, dared to take some of the most beloved pop songs of all time — those by Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush, to name a few — and spun them into downcast DnB-via-bedroom electronica masterpieces. It’s testament to his continued influence in contemporary acts that his bullishness pulled off.
