Chelmsford’s Derwin Panda returns with a second album of colourful and uplifting bleeps and blips. ‘We Work Nights’ plays a Morse code rhythm on off-kilter keyboards, gradually working in a 4/4 beat and luscious sonar effects; the funkier ‘Brazil’ takes a punchy but delicate click track and swirls strings around the popping percussion and echoing voices. As homegrown as the debut he recorded in his aunt’s lounge but with a wider, more travelled palette, ‘Half of Where You Live’ is as cute as it is groovy.
