With ‘Stromboli’, Geir Jenssen presents two vivid reincarnations of the Stromboli volcano, an active volcano off the north coast of the island of Sicily. Its nickname as ‘the Lighthouse of the Mediterranean’ is due to its constant activity having minorly erupted many times, often visible from the various points on the rest of the island. The surreal nature of its tormenting presence is finely captured by Jenssen with his manipulation of spitting molten rocks.
