Little is known about Matt Karmil (aka Matt Kent), but the Salisbury-raised producer has been sniffed out by International Records Recordings for a masterful three-tracker. The title cut rejigs Nicki Minaj’s ‘Moment 4 Life’, backing it with a ten-tonne kickdrum and delicate guitar fingering. ‘Ripp(ed)’ and ‘606 Pianos’ continue in the same vein - with subtle melodies underscored by hefty thuds. Very nice.
