Obsessed with Iceland and its musical exports, Bristol producer Zoon Van Snook’s flew to Reykjavik to record his sophomore album of fragile electronica. ‘Björn of the Medips’ adds twee harpsichord to a field-recorded interview, while ‘Thufur Thoroughfare’ ropes in Benni Hemm Hemm to add gorgeous strings to chirpy, 8-bit keys. Building on the cute, clipped atmosphere of early múm releases, ‘The Bridge Between Life and Death’ is a fitting tribute to a country whose president will only deal with MPs who’ve seen The Wire (true).
