Avian head off into the techno wilderness with a careering, yet never faltering, techno stomper from A Vision of Love. Opening track ‘Hate’ keeps things relatively monotone and controlled – bleeping heart-rate monitors sending themselves into a state of alarm alongside brittle, bone-crunching percussion. On the flip, ‘Black and Blue’ keeps a similar self-possessed cool albeit with punchy kick drums and unnerving distortion.
