While ambient dub and minimal techno are no strangers to heady themes of physics and thermodynamics, Loscil goes deep to sonically evoke them on his 2001 debut album Triple Point. Back to the beginning of his solo career, this is the final part of his “chronologically reverse reissue program”, resurfacing the long explorative passages of synths that sound like pipe organs and move like ice floes. Murmuring minimal textures and micro fluctuating beats flit around the laconic four to the floors, tiptoeing and whispering as they release steam and vapour alongside cavernous stabs and resonating tones.
