Laurel Halo does something different as she steps out with Hyperdub for a piece of UK-inspired digital dance. On ‘Throw’ Halo pulls off some raw, grimy attitude, decorating the abyss with eerie piano keys and tense snares. ‘Uhffo’ tackles some severe introspection with a compressed deconstruction of sound. Finally ‘Sex Mission’ spreads itself a little more evenly than all that precedes it with flexing, sub-aquatic, quasi-house. Brilliant.
