Hamburg electronic label Smallville have become known for their near flawless compilations, and this latest EP from four of their signings doesn’t drop the ball. Beginning with Iron Curtis’ deep house gem ‘Daniel’, ‘Thirtyfive Ways’ is a lesson in calm, enveloping beats, with Moomin playing organs over a slow techno synth, Rvds and Christopher Rau getting sensual on the jazzy ‘Umbé Data’ and Jacques Bon serving up a John Carpenter-tinged workout soundtrack on ‘Tribute to You’.
