Following last year’s critically acclaimed ‘No Bones’ EP, this is Shah’s second extended play offering, jumping on board R&S sub-label Apollo. The title cut, a sorrowful ballad, comes underscored by clunking piano keys, showing off the chanteuse’s incredible vocal dexterity. ‘Bobby Heron’ proves to be a good follow-up, a slow accordioned stomper, while ‘Cry Me a River’ is not in fact a Timberlake cover but a haunting, melancholic track in its own right. There’s nothing dreary about this.
