San Francisco house label Icee Hot have snagged NY producer Contakt for their fourth release, adding a funky, retro twist to their colourful 4/4 repertoire. ‘Nobody Else’ piles stabbing keyboards, vocal snippets and a driving, ecstatic bass line into warehouse Nirvana; flipside ‘Tessera 04’ takes a trance loop and crafts it into soft Berlin techno reminiscent of Paul Van Dyk. Remixes from Ghosts On Tape and Robert Hood experiment with dub pads on each track.
