With an album and string of sevens on roots reggae label Honest Jon’s Records, Wareika Hill Sounds are the kind of group that drove Damon Albarn to listen to 40 hours of Mali music then form The Good, The Bad & The Queen. This latest EP is a worthy add to the canon, with scratchy dub sounds and scuffed beats on ‘Universe In Crisis’, and horns, pounding drums, and tumbling bass on the title track.
