Rich Roberts and Andy Harber’s debut LP for Ninja Tune expands the perfectly fused vocal electro/hip-hop of previous EPs. The glitched ‘80s soul of single ‘D&T’ sets the bar high and is consistently met, with ‘I Wanted You Back’ and its pitch-shifted vocals tripping over kick drums and synthesized strings, and ‘Boosted’ taking BBC Radiophonic Workshop noises and feeding them ketamine till they freak. Believe the hype: this one’s a gem.
