Rightly annoyed that the world failed to end last December 21st, Julian Abelar has reinterpreted the Mayan calendar as this four-track LP, each tune acknowledging a sacred spiritual site. ‘El Mirador’ inserts breath-like drums over warm pads and squelchy synths, while ‘Chichen Itza’ takes a mellow techno beat and spices it up with shredded analogue slabs. If the horsemen are going to sound like this they can turn up any time they like.
