AD 93 sign Bristol four-piece Quade, who have issued their debut LP Nacre on the London label. Displaying an intoxicating blend of post-rock and turbulent post-punk, Quade are a group both somewhat out of time, and yet completely in step with contemporary indie rock as a whole. Tracks like the distressing ‘Piles Copse’ share some DNA strands with the ever-growing crop of noise-y post-punk groups landing on dance labels all over, while the spacier, more abstract numbers like ‘Of the Source’ pull more from post-hardcore and metal adjacent bands like Slint as well as pure ambient music to devestating effect.
