Astronautica is a one-off: a Californian ambient producer who’s ventured into folktronica for her debut album on Alpha Pup. Think Com Truise caught in a forest hailstorm: ‘You & Me’ adds chirps and cricket-like footwork beats to a vocal loop, while ‘Lowrider’ takes some guitar improv and bends it around a murky click track. It seems the sunshine state has got more to offer than just one type of weather.
