D(imitris) D(imas) of Greece’s debut for house label Fourth Wave fits right in with their screw-the-rulebook philosophy. Having been successfully tested on founder Gerry Read’s Facebook page, D D tosses the beats/synths/bottom end formula around like salad: ‘Coconut Girls’ and its jabbing keyboard melody stay just outside of expectations, while the funkier ‘You’ takes an underwater-sounding pad and sprinkles it with tin can percussion. If inventive thinking can save the Greek economy D D should be made Minister for Finance.
