Tadd Mullinix must be on the run: back with his JTC moniker and another twist on the beloved techno he’s been producing for twelve years now. ‘Sonic Criminal’ sees him drifting towards the Chicago sound, with ‘Pulse Catcher’ laying down a warehouse beat and spaced-out ‘90s synths, ‘Black Oracle’ moving tentatively into dubstep, and the title track serving up Detroit beats and fast, quivering bass slabs. If this sound is criminal, get ready for an outbreak of lasers on the prison wings.
