Oliver Ho as Raudive makes a splash on Running Back with an EP that marks a move away from the funky tribal techno he’s previously honed in on, into more obscure territory. Opener ‘Traffic’ is an assaulting blend of doom-ridden piano key with manic laughter samples, ‘Psycho’ merges weirdo wails with exploratory bass notes, ‘Relentless’ revolves around house tropes and a dread-ridden sample of the word ‘slave’ while ‘Beams’ pivots around stuttering synth work. There’s a playfulness to the EP that determines the prolific Ho as a dancefloor pioneer.
