Long before it was branded the global pirate hometown, Somalia’s capital Mogadishu was a melting pot of pop, folk and jazz. The Dur-Dur Band were a key ingredient and have been remastered here from home-taped cassette, bringing a fuzzy charm to the Stevie Wonder-esque ‘Hayeelin’ and the moody, ahead-of-its-time ‘Tajir Waa Ilaah’, ripe for hip-hop sampling.
