Robin de Bekker, the retro electro genius from the Netherlands, drops a hyperactive crystal ball of an album where the future is a mish-mash of antique synthesizers. Rigid snares drown in ghost-like pads/trance bass on ‘Glowism’, while ‘Magnetic Freedom’ bends synths over IDM beats, as perverse and melodic as vintage Autechre. If tomorrow’s really going to sound as futuristic as this it’s a good job the Mayans got the date wrong.
