Gerry Read has been the one-to-watch for some time now, but Fourth Wave finally do him full justice by presenting the release of his debut album. With a release on Amsterdam’s Delsin already under his belt, as well as several for Fourth Wave and 2nd Drop, Read’s jagged soulful hybrid of house and techno has been well documented. With ‘Jummy’ his maturity as a producer is obviously apparent , weaving intricate webs of jazz-inflected warmth, doffing his cap to Moodymann on occasion and managing to combine a certain sense of rawness with pure elegance.
