Laurel Halo concludes the visceral drama explored in her much-lauded ‘Quarantine’ album with new single ‘Sunlight on the Faded’. Where ‘Quarantine’ was a compelling tangle of lingering dissonance and disorientating melodies, ‘Sunlight on the Faded’ becomes a more geometric and energised exploration. Halo’s quivering vocals remain but with more of a fleeting focus. With the dub version her terse drum patterns and dub echos take centre stage.
