GAIKA has maintained a forward thinking reputation in rap, dancehall, and experimental electronic music since his early mixtapes and 2016 Warp debut. His third full length album lands on Big Dada, and it’s his most realised and kaleidoscopic vision yet. Alongside a varied ensemble, Drift shreds through grungy shoegaze veins, nu metal grooves with fangs on display, and churning, expansive cinematic arrangements. “I’m on the run for my honesty,” GAIKA says on ‘Ultra Scuro’, in between tracks with headbanging drums, sirens, and silky harmonies, showcasing an unfiltered album from an artist that speaks his heart just as much as his mind.
