Wholly reliable, Matias Aguayo's Cómeme label/collective has served up a series of aces since the label's new look, boasting an arsenal of new talent. Of these, newcomer Sano, hailing from Medellin, Colombia, is an artist to get very excited about. 'Chupa' or 'Suck' pack a musical punch with as much attitude as their titles suggest. There's some deep Chi-town-influenced house music here; but both 'Disco Noche' and 'La Siete' nod to the tougher, trackier, new-wave style of Jesse Saunders than the soulful sound of Frankie Knuckles. The title track takes onboard some more indigenous rhythms, sitting comfortably alongside the weighty throb of 'En Negro'; the highlight being the essential, sleazy slo-mo workout, 'Bad Boys'.
