Ninja Tune dusts off an early classic from the vaults and gives it a fresh new sheen with this 20th anniversary reissue of Mr. Scruff’s classic album Trouser Jazz. An enticing, if slightly animated slice of disco goodness, Trouser Jazz embraces the lighter, more playful side of seduction, right down to the peelable pair of trousers on the LP’s front jacket. For all the gags, Trouser Jazz is far from lacking musically, as tracks like ‘Sweetsmoke’ and ‘Shelf Wobbler’ are sharp enough to cut glass, or at least a rug.
