London’s Gobstopper Records present some more heavy grime beats in the form of Bloom and the arcade-sampling ‘Quartz’ EP. The title cut is a staunch expression of glitch-heavy hydraulics, laced with computer-coded samples stripped straight from your favourite Capcom killer. In support, we get a remix each from Slackk and Starkey; for the former pushing the piece into hyperdrive with its accelerated passages, and the later chopping up the vocals and laying the aggressive bass tones on thick.
