Genres

Before Beverly Glenn-Copeland released the new age landmark Keyboard Fantasies album, he was making equally arresting and forward thinking creations bringing folk, jazz, classical, and psychedelic ideas together. His second selftitled album of 1970 lays heavy on fluttering layers of strings, and vocals ranging from crooning hums to operatic, tension filled drama. Low thunking strums power ‘Ghost House’ until it erupts and thrashes in its second half, meanwhile dense tangles of guitars ensnare the closing ‘Erzili’, with swishing jazz drums thrusted into a racing gait by panting flutes passing by.
