Wealdham lands on the Castles In Space label for a new LP of progressive electronica entitled Motorway. Inspired in part by JG Ballard’s ‘Concrete Island’ as well as Kraftwerk’s Autobahn, Motorway is also something of a tribute to the UK producer’s youth, borrowing its title from a beloved, but slightly broken train set Wealdham owned as a child. There is plenty of propulsive spirit herein, with the hefty chug of tracks like ‘The North’ and ‘Bahnstorming’ mimicking the pistons and rods that charge sleek sports cars and cargo bearing convoys alike.
