London-based experimentalists Valentina Magaletti and Zongamin have come together under the moniker V/Z for an EP of dark, and dubby electronica. While post-punk is a clear influences here, V/Z bang those long-loved shapes into newfound constructions that feel remarkably modern. The Coby Sey featuring title track is both cavernous and spell-binding, like a spoken word track and a metronome thrown down a well, while ‘Candles’ comes as two versions: one leaning bedroom pop and the other stretched wider and all the more sinister as a result.
