An avalanche of sound and emotion, the legendary Markus Popp’s latest instalment in the Oval oeuvre continues his quest in musical exploration. Romantiq was born from an audiovisual collaboration with Robert Seidel for the German Romantic Museum, exploring the history of its titular concept through electronic symphonies plucked from nature’s landscapes. A confluence of skittering piano notes sways through stuttering synths in ‘Rytmy’, turning glassy and crystalline with the percussive thunks of ‘Touha’, capturing wonder in the album’s gracefully shifting patterns.
