Dutch producer Alberta Balsam lands on the legendary DUB Recordings label for a new EP entitled 15 Billion Elektrovolt. Picking up right where she left off on the 2021 release on Dekmantel, 15 Billion Elektrovolt packs plenty of classic Detroit inspired machine funk into a brightly lit package very much in tune with contemporary dance. ‘Comic Bionic’ heads straight for the floor with battering, mile deep kicks and a ping-ponging synth melody that rattle bones, while ‘Saccharine Shine’ adds pretty, almost prog-like keys to equation for an emotionally affecting listen best served by a good pair of headphones. Very highly recommended material!
