It’s finally here, the long-awaited collaboration between buddies Funkineven and Kyle Hall. Both schooled in a raw and soulful approach to music making, the two young producers douse their record in equal parts of London and Detroit – deep emotive synths and unprocessed percussion alongside a sly unhinged touch from Funkineven no doubt with serrated hats, squelching acid lines and off-kilter drums. Hall’s friends in high places even bags a guest appearance from the keyboard talents of Underground Resistance’s Timeline band leader Jon Dixon. Warm, danceable and deliciously disturbed.
