Berceuse Heroique return with their first LP in three years, landing Jonquera’s second offering of 2023 with Primitive Sounds Of Intermittence. Laying heavy on lush chamber instruments and bright synths glossed in sugar, the album is a round of exquisite sound design. Gauzy textures wet with mist locate a nature reserve of sounds, croaking, shuffling, and alive. ‘Plongée Dans La Sornin’ submerges stampeding percussion, flurries of synth bubbles and marimba plunks, bracketed by crystalline harps and gusts of cymbals and whispers, with the sunsoaked guitars of ‘Rouge De L’Ouest’ leading out, swaying in sandy rhythms among the ocean spray.
