Though its roots lay in the constructs of bass music, Djrum’s material speaks to the more tech-minded out there. ‘Watermark’ rolls with a sturdy techno rhythm, a slight garage swing and lush unfolding atmosphere, whereas ‘The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn’ is more expansive – a syncopated mass of dark bass mutations and whirring manipulations.
