Bibio and Olivier St. Louis originally linked up in 2016 for ‘Why So Serious?’, a standout track from A Mineral Love so deserving of further exploration it generated several stunners with The Serious EP and Beyond Serious. Six years and three albums later, Bibio tapped into that disco ball-lit groove once again with ‘S.O.L.’, featuring St. Louis’s silky, infectious vocals.

The followup EP to BIB10 sees Bibio getting lost even further in the world of ‘S.O.L.’, with two remixes from himself alongside a light edit from Stardust's Alan Braxe. A bass heavy disco loop rises up from the dancefloor on the ‘81810 Remix’, euphoric as it swaps out the laidback yet irresistible head-nodding groove of the original for 909 beats and a propulsive four to the floor rhythm compelling into a dance fever. Alan Braxe highlights the sizzling synths and metropolitan verve of ‘S.O.L.’ by pushing the tempo with thumping beats and syrupy bass licks. Meanwhile, slowed down, glittery pulses open Bibio’s ‘Champagne Eagle Rework’, interspersed with rainy montages adding drama and mystique as the deft, explosive guitar solo that took the limelight of ‘S.O.L.’ is amplified to the vigour and grandeur of a stadium anthem.

Paying homage to disco, 90s French house, and 80s pop-rock, Bibio’s trademark eclecticism scintillates on the S.O.L. EP.
