The previous album efforts from Rene Pawlowitz's Shed guise, 'The Traveller' and 'Shedding the Past', both achieved their own individual status as examples of superlative techno classics. The former reaching our number one album spot of 2010. This latest long-player for 50Weapons, Pawlowitz takes his style and reputation further, bolstering his skills for textured, emotive cadence and timeless production style. With a change from his previous efforts however, Shed eschews more functional 4/4 rhythms in favour of a more intangible rhythm styles – expect to hear IDM-inspired broken beats, quasi-hardcore breaks, moments of isolating ambience and shifting, poly-rhythmical machine music. By name and by nature, this album is a killer indeed.
