Over/Shadow present an eclectic confluence of artists, with Spatial label bosses James Clements and Simon Huxtable remixing tracks from Robert Haigh’s Creatures of the Deep. Taking the piano-led ambience of the original tracks, the two shift them from impressionist and sparse to churning drum and bass numbers. ‘Koto Line’ is dramatic with snapping white rapids cutting through the blueness, bass adding both weightlessness and a heartbeat-quickening quality, while twinkling susurrations and soft thuds on ‘Secret Life of Waves’ are broken by sputtering breaks breathing out frosty tendrils.
