Representing change and transformation, ‘Soon Over Babaluma’ the sixth studio album from Can, was the first album to appear after the departure of lead vocalist Damo Suzuki with guitarist Karoli and keyboardist Irmin Schmidt taking care of his role. Representing further change is the band’s insistence on pursuing a more ambient form of sound, initialised with their previous album ‘Future Days’, as well as their first forays into violin strings and what sounds like their own version of ska on ‘Dizzy Dizzy’.
