Following on from two hypnotising white label 12 inches for Unchartered Audio, the mysterious Fin who goes by the name of Ukkonen delivers a much-welcomes debut album on his home label. ‘The Isolated Rhythms Of…’ is a similarly skilful snapshot of non-liner techno narratives structured across five distinct moments of sound. As much music does these days, Ukkonen manages to dodge any form of genre identification – rather, producing something refreshingly unique and drenched in unconventionality.
