Former resident at the legendary House Of God club in Birmingham Paul ‘Damage’ Bailey lands on the De:tuned label for a 12” of blistering rave tunes entitled Subsurface. The A side’s ‘Hadal Zone’ scans somewhere near broken beat as the bubbly, syncopated kicks threaten to fall off axis throughout its runtime. ‘Decompression’ on the flip is also laden with dense, rubbery sound design while the cyclical, noisy kicks have a bit more shape. James Ruskin and Makaton add tremendous remixes respectively, taking these tracks towards hard electro and quaking half-speed techno.
