Genres

Though typified (especially during their early 90’s run) for their harder techno sound, the Underground Resistance collective issued plenty of music that differed from raw machine funk. Case in point, 1991’s Nation 2 Nation, an EP that succeeded in bridging the rudiments of techno with the sultrier sounds of jazz and soul. Cuts like the nearly ambient ‘Big Stone Lake’ and the busier title track utilise Lenny Price’s saxophone to bring out emotions from the machines in a way they hadn’t ever before. Now is as good a time as any for UR to reintroduce this crucial early experiment to the dance music landscape with this essential reissue. Every home should own a copy.
