From Red to Blue, Schnitzler moved into 1974 – here’s 'Blau', pulled up from relative obscurity by Bureau B and making a sublime companion to 'Rot' (also re-released by Bureau B). This time it’s more percussive, more driving, more motorik - a rhythmic clang and clatter pervades the spooked electronic mastery (a la Cluster, Harmonia). In the 19 minute 'Die Rebellen Haben Sich In Den Bergen Versteckt' you can almost hear the occult-teknologies of recent Shackleton whilst 'Jupiter' slithers along a Kosmische path - all twitchy, sequenced arps and pulsing VCS3 noise. An incredible album.
