Shanghai producer Tzusing returns to the PAN label for his sophomore LP entitled 绿帽 Green Hat. A concept album of sorts about gender expression in Chinese culture, Tzusing explores these heady themes without straying too far from the EBM and dark rave inspired racket he kicked up on a notable run of 12”s on the L.I.E.S. label. Tracks like the thunderous ‘Muscular Theology’ and ‘孝忍狠 (Filial Endure Ruthless)’ are somewhat familiar territory for Tsuzisng as they batter the audio field with almost primal-like energy, but rendered whole in new ways. Meticulously sculpted and mixed to perfection, these tracks (along with the rest of 绿帽 Green Hat) feel like a sonic ideal.
