Tomas Barfod’s debut solo LP, ‘Salton Sea’, sees the drummer of Danish 3-piece WhoMadeWho fashion his own brand of electronica; combining synth-pop with club-ready, pulsating, hypnotic beats and snaps, bursting at the seams with dancefloor energy. The sound of the album, (influenced by the film Blade Runner, according to Barford), shifts from the indie-electronica of ‘November Skies’ to the broody, slowed-down disco of ‘Don’t Understand’ and everywhere inbetween, with Barfod’s collaborators - WhoMadeWho band-mate Jeppe Kjellberg, film composer Lydia Ainsworth, Swedish vocalist Nina Kinert and CHLLNGR - ensuring the album is littered with both vocal and instrumental melodies and hooks.
